WHAT TO BRING TO PRACTICE
All practices and home meets are at the Lititz Springs outdoor pool.
- Swimmers enter and exit the pool through the black metal gate to the left of the main pool entrance.
- Swimmers should come to practice dressed in their swimsuit before the start time.
- Please bring: sneakers (for dryland warm-ups), towel, goggles, swim cap (optional), swimsuit, water bottle, sunscreen, and a positive attitude. Sweatshirts & sweatpants may be beneficial on cooler days. It's no fun being cold and wet!
- Coaches may spend more time with dryland warm-ups and activities due to chilly waters the first few week or so. Please make sure your swimmer has socks and sneakers. Crocs, sandals, and flip flops are acceptable for after practice but are not safe for dryland practice.
- Female swimmers may wear any one piece swimsuit, that does not have a tie-back, for practice. Two piece swimsuits for female swimmers are not permitted for practice or competition. A plain black suit is required for meets.
- Male swimmers may wear jammers, bikini style bottoms, or trunks. Black suits are required for meets, but practice suits can be any color/pattern.
- If your swimmer is planning to change after practice, remember to pack a change of dry clothes including undergarments.
- All changing of apparel must happen in the locker rooms/restrooms. Swimmers are not permitted to change clothes on deck or in the lawn.
- Please do not bring any glass items into the pool area.
- Parents may stay for practices. Feel free to bring a camp chair or blanket.
SWIM CAPS/REGISTRATION PAYMENTS
Non-personalized swim caps will be available for purchase at practices for $12 (exact change is strongly encouraged). See a board member to purchase or to make your registration payment.
PARENT MEETING - MAY 28th @ 5:30
Join us poolside for a brief parent meeting to answer your questions and explain the vital role that families play in the success of our team. Please plan to attend, especially if you are new to LSST. This is also a great opportunity to meet other families and connect for carpooling.
SWIM MEET ENTRIES & VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering is essential for the success of any swim meet! Regardless of the size of our team, we must fill all roles in order to ensure a safe and successful meet. All parents/guardians are asked to volunteer in one or more areas. If you want to get a head start on choosing jobs and registering your swimmer for meets, go to Meet Entries & Job Signup. Committing/declining to meets is very important so that our coaching staff can create accurate lineups. If you know you are unable to attend, please decline the meet. This leaves no uncertainties for our coaches as they place swimmers in events. Likewise, if you plan to compete, please commit your swimmer. Swimmers who show up for meets who were not committed to the meet are not guaranteed an opportunity to swim.
At the link above, you'll see two green boxes where you can indicate whether or not your swimmer will participate. You may also select volunteer roles under the "Job Signup" box and see where you might be able to help. Our Red-Black Meet is where swimmers and volunteers get to practice how a meet is run. We have lots of experienced families who'd love to help you learn any of the roles. Don't be nervous about trying out a new job. A description of jobs can be found HERE.
See you at the pool!
